Nirek Announces Completion of a NI 43-101 (Sarah Lake property) and Recommendation for Extending Exploration to New Areas

ONTARIO, CANADA – September 22, 2009 - Nirek Resources Inc. (“Nirek”) (Frankfurt: 3N6-FRA; Gold Warrant: CA6546411175) is pleased to announce that Dr. Derek McBride, PhD, PEng., has completed a National Instrument (NI)43-101 Technical Report after an extensive property investigation of the Sarah Lake claims in Quebec. Dr. McBride took a number of chip samples for assays as well examining an extensive amount of drill core from drilling programs in the 1990’s. After synthesis of all the data including two just discovered historical reports, he recommends that additional exploration is warranted.

Sarah Lake is a copper and precious metals project located 120 kilometres south of the border town of Wabush. A float plane from nearby Labrador City was used to access the property for his 5 day visit in June. From historical maps and by GPS measurements, Dr. McBride was able to identify the outcrops, pits and drill holes of previous operators. On six pits that had historical assays of more than .5% copper, Dr. McBride chipped samples for assaying.

The mineralization has historically been found in the ultramafic rock that is located in two prominent hills, known as the East Zone and the West Zone. The West Zone runs about 1 kilometre long and about 300 metres in width while the East Zone is smaller. In the West Zone, the NI 43-101 confirms the existence of copper mineralization. One assay showed better than previous results at .88% copper. The assayed samples also showed slightly better values than the original samples for platinum and paladium at around the .1 gram/tonne. Although these values are on low side, they could be of economic significance as a byproduct of potential copper production.

The technical report notes that a 1990 soil survey in the West Zone suggests two anomalies in the West Zone whereas blasting and drilling was mostly confined to outcrops in the mid-area.
A 2001 MMI (Metallic Mobile Ion) survey in the West Zone confirmed widespread mineralization and most importantly some peripheral lines indicated that the mineralization extends beyond the historic exploration work.

As such Dr. McBride recommends expanding the grid to the south and north to the limits of the ultramafic rocks. The report further suggests undertaking a soil survey with 25 metre sample spacing on 100 metre spaced lines. The estimated budget for exploring the West Zone to the North and the South would be $120,000, after which the most promising areas should be surveyed with Induced Potential (IP) geophysics.

Nirek has renewed the 19 Sarah Lake claims in order to do further work to adequately estimate the property’s economic potential.
